To do so add android:debuggable='false' to the tag in the apk’s manifest file. Use apktool to disassemble the apk and to extract smali files: apktool d application.apkĪlso, make sure to turn on debugging for the application. This means there are a couple steps to prepare the apk for debugging: Setting up the smali file types DebuggingĪs previously stated, this setup will allow you to both debug any apk and directly make changes if needed. Remove the pattern “*.smali” from the original (the gray and orange one) and add it to the newly added smali type (the one with the black letter “S”). Go to File > Settings > Editor > File types and locate smali types, there should be two after the plugin installation.
